Raspberries – Laked
- Cut up the raspberries.
- Place these cut raspberries in a pan of boiling water.
- Leave them to boil for 30 minutes.
- Remove the raspberries from this pan. (using a sieve) (the liquid should appear light red)
- Add white ash to the sieved liquid. (it should now appear a light purple)
- Boil this mixture for 15 further minutes.
- Allow this mixture to cool and place it outdoors to dry. (preferably in a shallow containers to increase the surface area)
- Once the liquid has evaporated you should be left with a dyed ash.
- This ash should appear dark purple.
- Grind and sieve this ash until is a suitable micron size.
